It’s a show! With things! This week F13 yells at listeners, DZ, everyone around him and then dies of an Aneurysm. Except not really.. well a listener DOES get a stern finger wagging and somewhere in there we cover TNT Jackson and The Salamander. Enjoy the awesomeness!

Great show this week. Now I need to give up on Netflix (oh yeah, we have an 80% compatibility rate) and leave my survivalist compound in the hills of Southern Indiana to see if my local cult video place has TNT Jackson.

Good return to form, but I think I liked listening to Awful August much more than you liked making it.

PS
“Chris from Indy?” Really. Doesn’t he know that I have called as “Chris from Indiana” when I don’t want to give out my real name (which is sort of moot at this point anyway). Dammit. Do I need to fight this guy on top of the Jonas Brothers?

This is almost as bad as Metal Mike vs. Metal Mikey.

Do we need to do some Thunderdome 2-men-enter-1-man-leaves sorting of this stuff out?

Oh there is another film by this director of TNT Jackson that I have never seen and have always wanted to….She Devils In Chains AKA Ebony, Ivory and Jade….also I cant find that prequel to TNT Jackson either….shame…I need a copy of TNT Jackson because I think I have seen it but I might be confusing it with something else I’m pretty sure I have seen it, the cover looks familiar but this was the tape trading days…..anywho…great show as usual guys…...would love to do a crossover with you guys…..this kung fu blaxploitation thing is probably more in Willy’s ballpark but I know a fair share…..

To further that thought about the gentleman named Doug…I understand his passion but I too have seen Diary of the Dead and it was just the wrong thing for Romero to do and he didnt even do it well….he is a film maker, his product is viewed by the public and fans of the Dead films, such as myself, will always be harder on the films he misses on….I dont think he should stop making films, I just think he should walk away from the Zombie genre….I think he still has potential.

Thats the main reason I listen to this show because the opinions are from honest film fans…not wannabe critics….think about that before retaliation against F13 and DZ or their rants….its why I keep coming back….honestly.

listening to this episode now. i’m pretty sure the casper the friendly ghost thing is from a particular company and not tied to anything racist or whatever

my brother had one of those 20-film sets a few years ago with random kung fu flicks on it. (no blaxploitation)... we always thought it was so random that it had these random casper cartoons on it as extras.

it’s funny to hear a discovery of this somewhere else

I might be willing to sacrifice TNT Jackson in an upcoming contest to share the awesomeness with others.

Watched TNT Jackson this evening, and was so blah with it I had to come to the site and listen to your review again to refresh my memory about your thoughts.  I was quite surprised to hear that both of you loved it so much when I was so underwhelmed, but I guess we can’t always be in the same corner on stuff like this.

To run down a few thing I feel you can generally expect in a Blaxploitation flick: (ala the Giallo Checklist you guys use)

Charismatic hero (or antihero): I just never found Bell all that compelling, easy on the eyes, yes, but she never grabbed me the way Pam Grier does, or even Marki Bey did in Sugar Hill.

Swinging Soundtrack: nothing of note here for me, nothing really stuck out.

Convincing violence or fight sequences: The fights all seemed so clumsy it was just hard to take serious, I mean the nude fight sequence was somewhat clever, but everything else just looked so clunky.

I dunno, maybe this’ll be something I’ll come back to later with a buddy and some beers and find the right mood to enjoy it for all the bad elements, but tonight it just wasn’t what I was looking for.

I love TNT Jackson.  Great review, too.  I love me some topless karate.  I posted in the ILSA thread about ILSA: Haren Keeper of the Oil Sheiks has some topless karate, too, for others who enjoy that sort of thing.

There’s a very bad 80’s flick called Angelfist starring Cat Sassoon and her kinda weird looking implants, oh yeah, and lots of karate.  It’s right up you guys alley.

Also, did you guys ever review Superchick??  I love that one, too.

and don’t miss Tim and Eric’s Awesome Show on Sunday nights- Cartoon Network-Adult Swim.
It’s weird, but truly awesome.

Just saw TNT Jackson for the first time, and re-listened to this episode before writing up my own review for my blog.

One thing that was mentioned in the episode was the possible existence of a prequel to the film, called “Dynamite Wong & TNT Jackson”. I’m not sure if this was addressed by listener feedback, but there actually are no prequels/sequels to TNT Jackson, and “Dynamite Wong & TNT Jackson” is actually the Tagalog name for “TNT Jackson” for its release in the Phillipines.

Unfortunate, but true.

This is almost as bad as Metal Mike vs. Metal Mikey.

Huh? Did I miss something? How the hell is this over a year old. What’s that complex where time displacement causes a man to go crazy, I think that’s happening right now…
