Is it just me being prudish or did anyone else think it was creepy listening to a dad tell his two teenage kids how he hooked up with a crazy woman for a one night stand using a method that could get him arrested?

Yeah - it’s kind of always an odd part of the show. I just kind of ignore it for the most part. I did like in S2 when they talked about “eating sandwiches” instead of smoking pot. It was a good way to deal with the topic and acknowledge the storytelling framework.

But I find a lot of the behavior on HIMYM creepy if you spend any time talking about it - Marshall’s obsession with the supernatural, Ted’s “romantic” moves that tend to fall on the side of stalker, and of course I think Robin will gun someone down in a very special episode.

So you’re totally right - it’s weird to spend time telling a story to your kids about how you landed some totally awful chick. And that it was okay to sleep with her and never talk to her again because she was awful.

Maybe sexual openness is something we can better embrace in 25 years (where the retelling is set).

Did you hear the two female leads are knocked up?

How about Robin’s pity sex story?  That was a bit weird as well.  I still like the series and look forward to it but it’s very hit or miss.

If you saw Criminal Minds this week, the totally awful chick also makes an appearance on there as a bartender.

I actually thought this week’s episode was probably the funniest ep of this season - but since this has been a bad year, I’m probably damning with faint praise. The show has been totally uneven for the past 2 seasons.

I did hear both female leads are pregnant which I expect will lead to a lot of giant purses and laundry baskets in our future. On the bright side, Cobie Smulders will have to eat - seriously, she is too thin.
