Excellent work, gents. I finally got around to watching Let’s Scare Jessica to Death a few months ago and liked it for a lot of the same reasons that you guys did. It certainly wasn’t the movie I was expecting it to be and it’s definitely slow in long stretches, but there are some great moments scattered throughout.

By the way, isn’t it sad that we’ll never see the sort of people that we see in this movie cast as the lead of a horror film today?  I miss seeing ugly or average people on the screen.

I think Ron Jeremy should be in more movies. He puts the ugly in one film enough for a whole year of viewing.

This was a good episode. I haven’t seen either of the films you discussed, but I grabbed “Lets Scare…” today, because out of the two it seemed like the one I would like the most and I should be able to watch it either tonight or tomorrow. When I’m done I’ll post my thoughts on it in the “Currently Viewing” thread. Keep up the good work.

No Let’s Scare for me.  I’m bumping Mrs. Wardh up the queue.  Mmmmm Fenich…

It’s good having you guys back on Giallo.  I never would have seen a Giallo had it not been for CD.

I’m glad to have watched another Fenech film. I might have to build an altar to her and take pictures of it.

I laughed SOOO hard when F was talking about his scary moment. “Ya I put down my gin and cigarette and was ‘Ah F_ck! I need help!’” Hahahaha it still makes me crack up.

What kind of Fenech films are you guys looking for?  One of her sex comedies has gotten a recent release on Region one:

I haven’t seen it yet.  It also stars Ray Lovelock and was directed by Luciano Martino.

DZ, if you haven’t seen Torso, see it soon.  It’s my favorite Martino giallo-esque film.  I say that because it feels more like a horror film than a giallo, but has elements of both.  It also has Conchita Airoldi, the other lovely lady from Mrs. Wardh.  Late.

We appreciate the “intellectual” comment towards the end of the show, have you heard the Oreo comments on the new show…think twice about that one….he is our mentor and all around cuddly bear…..F13 everybody (applause)...what a sweetheart….

I think this was supposed to be an email but I have been drinking tonight….oh welll…..my love and respect knows no bounds….and when you talk giallos…the first director and last director that should be mentioned as a master of the form…...is Martino….Sergio Martino…

I saw Let’s Scare Jessica a few months ago on cable - and I agree with the fellas that it’s an unexpected little gem!

My big issue with the movie and with a lot of other movies from that era is the mental illness aspect. Mostly because Jessica is just dismissed as an hysterical woman - I suspect with her domineering husband she’d have been dismissed anyway.  I guess I just don’t enjoy overly passive women characters in movies - especially as the lead - because I can’t relate.

But I should watch it again - it would be very easy to do a feminist critique, per DZ’s interest. But I don’t see it in my cable line-up anytime soon. Ah well…

Also, F13, not all women are nuts and paranoid that their “man” is cheating on them.
