My second venture into Nazisploitation, and this one was LOADS better than SS Hell Camp. Where SS Hell Camp just had war parts painfully tacked on, this plot in Ilsa at least made sense in context with the rest of the movie.
Ilsa and her underlings have this work camp where they do various medical tests on women in order to strengthen the German army (finding a resistance to disease or something like that)
The men seem to be there to do work, and occasionally Ilsa bangs them apparently, and if they do not please her (which they never do) she cuts their junk off and kills them I guess?
SPOILERS
-the torture scenes i thought were pretty well done. not overly cheesy, and i was glad they actually had reasons for the various tortures
-i thought the American’s technique for working out the escape was funny
-am i a bad person for thinking some of the scenes were hot? for instance, when the topless officers are whipping the shit out of the man and woman. the woman that played Ilsa was hot to me too.
-the woman in the boiling water was brutal!
-was the setup with the woman hanging while standing on ice done before this? i thought that was a cool scene, although i found myself wishing they showed her actually fall off the ice… i think that would have been more effective
-the officer with the bad teeth that Ilsa pees on was so sick… his singing during the ice hanging scene was awesome
SPOILER END
I thought this was solid and pretty entertaining. I wouldn’t put it in (heyy-ohh!) as something to yank to, but there is a lot of nudity, sometimes sweaty nudity, and a moderate amount of sex scenes. But it’s the various torture sequences that make this movie what it is. I guess I’m desensitized, because they didn’t bother me, but they can me pretty rough.
This has be the go-to film as a primer for Nazisploitation… everything that one would expect in the genre
If you’re interested in this genre, I would definitely recommend you check this one out and leave SS Hell Camp alone.
