For some inexcusable reason, I haven’t bothered to watch the trailer for Antichrist until just now. God, I’m dumb. This looks so good.

I’m sure a good chunk of you have seen it by now. Is it as good as it looks?

Don’t feel bad, I hadn’t heard about this either.  It looks okay to me, I like Willem Dafoe cuz even when he’s a good guy he seems like a bad guy and I actually usually enjoy horror movies with a religious bent…The trailer didn’t give much away though.  I guess that’s good.  We’ll see huh?

I have read that this film is like an assault….

Depending on who you talk to, this is either one of the finest, most disturbing horror films made in a very long time, or completely disposable artsy-fartsy garbage. I’ve heard more good things than bad, though.

Antichrist is one of the most pretentious pieces of shit I’ve ever seen.

That said, it wasn’t entirely without its moments. Namely a talking fox. All three animals (the three beggars, whatever that means) were incorporated into the film very well, actually. That part I enjoyed. But beyond that… I don’t know, man. What the f**k even happened?

And could someone please explain the bone deformity thing to me? Please?

I thought this movie was amazing :S. I think its pace is what ultimately divides people, some people get involved more because of how slow it is, others are taken out of the movie by it.

I think the bone deformity was saying that the wife had been purposely tying the sons shoes on the wrong foot for a while as a subtle form of abuse.

I thought this movie was amazing :S. I think its pace is what ultimately divides people, some people get involved more because of how slow it is, others are taken out of the movie by it.

Hmm… based on the way the X-rays looked, I thought the director was implying that the kid had triple-jointed demon feet. Or something. I really wasn’t sure. Your explanation makes about as much sense as any (more than mine, certainly), so I suppose I’ll let that one go.

And I don’t mind a slow-paced movie, that wasn’t the problem at all. The problem, for me, is that I could give a shit about 98% of what happens in the movie, and not a lot happens to begin with. It didn’t disturb me. Didn’t provoke any thoughts or deeper analysis or any of that. It’s just made me groan. Oh well. I can see now why it’s so divisive.

For some reason, after listening to GGTMC talk about this movie, I renamed it Ballsack:The Motion Picture in my mind.
