I haven’t listened to the latest episode yet, but I gotta say - I really enjoyed Deadgirl.  It’s such a disturbing and effective movie . . .

(And I’m not just saying this because we intereviewed the screenwriter Trent Haaga in Episode 86 of Mail Order Zombie last week!)

The movie definitely pushes all the right (and wrong) buttons, and does so in such a bleak yet realistic way.  The performances felt real to me, and the zombie aspect was handled with subtlety and, for lack of a better word, taste.

(But great movie).

Yeah, it’s definitely good. My advice if you haven’t seen it is to just go watch it—don’t read anything about it or listen to the podcast before you see it.

It is worth watching once.  This is not a movie I would watch again.  It isn’t disturbing or deep enough to warrant multiple viewings to “get it” and it isn’t entertaining enough to watch just for fun.  It’s just right, as far as being disturbing goes and is probably as safe as a movie like this could be.
