Brother D (and others if you’d like)
what are your top zombie films?

i’m sure this has been covered somewhere… i’m just not sure how to find it

i guess i am looking for recommendations for stuff i may have missed along the way (which is often a lot)

Would a top five be ok? A list like this could go on forever for most of us!

Return of the Living Dead – running zombies, talking corpses, an awesome eighties soundtrack, gothic boobies and Tarman. What more could anyone want? See also: Return of the Living Dead II

Dawn of the Dead (original) – the ultimate siege movie. See also: Dawn of the Dead 2004

Night of the Living Dead – the great grandfather of them all, you haven’t seen a zombie film until you have seen this one. See also: Night of the Living Dead 90

Brain Dead/Dead Alive – one of the sickest, bloodiest and most hilarious zombie films ever made. Watch out for those intestines! See also: Shaun of the Dead (not from OZ but a nice mix of horror and comedy)

Zombie Self-Defence Force - no one does dismembered limbs and robotic schoolgirls better than Japan. Watch out for those zombified babies! See also: STACY: Attack of the Schoolgirl Zombie

Honourable mentions: Day of the Dead (original), Land of the Dead, Last of the Living, Dead Snow, Dead Set, Wild Zero, Junk, Versus, Fido, The Undead, Dance of the Dead, Zombie Flesh Eaters, Zombie Diaries, [REC], 28 Days Later, 28 Weeks Later.

Hope that helps a little…

cool nice one!
as a big zombie fan, it can be hard to find decent flicks in the sea of garbage

as a result i only ever see the ones EVERYONE knows… or the stuff that is so bad i cant stand it

Can only add a few titles to the list - here’s a few more:

The Living Dead at the Manchester Morgue aka Let Sleeping Corpses Lie.

Bio-Zombie (if you like good-natured, crappy asian films)

Dead and Buried (Not exactly zombie canon here, but a great film not to be missed)

Burial Ground

Shorts:
I love Sarah Jane
It Came from the West

Off to work, will try and clean up thread later.

My top five?  (Thanks for making this easy on me - it’s so tough to rank them in some sort of order, and I don’t think I could nail down a Number 1!)

Dawn of the Dead (1978)
Night of the Living Dead (1968)
The Zombie Diaries
Day of the Dead (1985)
The Plague of the Zombies
