Well, my copy of Trick ‘R Treat got delivered a little early, so I watched it this morning. I’d recommend it to all y’all here, as it is highly entertaining. It’s got a very EC comics feel (with their famous comeuppances and all). So if you enjoy the Tales from the Crypt/Creepshow style of horror, I think you’ll get into this one. The anthology aspect is put together very well, with stories having just enough little connections to make a cohesive whole.

There are parts that are genuinely creepy, some funny parts, and just a great horror sensibility (and from what I could tell, a lot of practical effects use (hooray!)). I’ve read a few reviews claiming that it’s one of the best horror movies ever made. I don’t think it’s that (there are some parts that are a little derivative), but I did really enjoy it, and I’m glad I bought it. Definitely helped move me into Halloween (the holiday, not the movie) mode.

And hey, for what it’s worth…at least it’s not another remake or sequel, so it’s got that going for it.
