I’m also trying very hard to think of good recommendations that are not horror films. I’d love to hear you guys tackle Mommie Dearest because, c’mon. It’s f*ckng Mommie Dearest. Follow it with Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?

I’m having the same problem. I’ve not seen Mommie Dearest, but I love Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?. I second that suggestion.
Thanks Tony. This ain’t my first time at the Pop Syndicate forum rodeo (to quote a little Mommie Dearest) but I reckon it is my first post on ShowShow’s board. Thanks!

I love any film that features domestic violence. “Mommie Dearest” is a classic. Of course, “What’s Love Got To Do With It” is my all time favorite.
Trust me, Katie’s eyes will roll and Miles will throw up from ineptitude…some of the worst acting I have ever seen in my life….and I like bad acting…this is worse….
You guys….please?? It’s so bad! Sooooooo bad. It’s got bad hair, bad cloths, horrible nicknames, synchronized roller blading, and….Corey Haim. Please? It has a curly mullet.

Not sure what she’s going on about. Prayer of the Rollerboys is a cinematic classic. Absolute masterpiece of film making.
Hi Miles and Katie, i would like to hear your thoughts on The Beguiled (1971) and Touching The Void (2003).
You make me laugh inappropriately when i listen at work.
Cheers and toodle-pip!
So it looks like the first 2 films of the festival this month are going to be She-Ra: The Secret of the Sword and Mommie Dearest, which are about as fine a pairing as I could have hoped for. I’m going to keep the polls open here and on hodgeblodge.com so that you guys can rally behind any film that might be lagging at the moment, and we’ll announce the 2nd week’s picks at the end of the next show.
