I’m having the same problem. I’ve not seen Mommie Dearest, but I love Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?. I second that suggestion.

I love any film that features domestic violence. “Mommie Dearest” is a classic. Of course, “What’s Love Got To Do With It” is my all time favorite.

If we end up watching What’s Love Got To Do With It AND The Sweetest Thing in the same month, I will count this month as a rousing success.

Not sure what she’s going on about.  Prayer of the Rollerboys is a cinematic classic.  Absolute masterpiece of film making.

Hi Miles and Katie, i would like to hear your thoughts on The Beguiled (1971) and Touching The Void (2003).

So it looks like the first 2 films of the festival this month are going to be She-Ra: The Secret of the Sword and Mommie Dearest, which are about as fine a pairing as I could have hoped for. I’m going to keep the polls open here and on hodgeblodge.com so that you guys can rally behind any film that might be lagging at the moment, and we’ll announce the 2nd week’s picks at the end of the next show.
