I just got this in email and thought I’d pass it along:
Please join Kyle Baker and family for A DAY TO BELIEVE: AUTISM AWARENESS DAY at Shea Stadium
New York Mets vs. Atlanta Braves
Sunday, April 22, 2007 at 12 p.m. (pre-game party) 1:10 p.m. (game starts)Most seats will cost LESS (only $12) than what you would normally pay, and the proceeds will be donated to organizations and schools helping autistic children, like Autism Speaks (http://www.autismspeaks.org).
This is a great way to see the game and support a wonderful cause. As one first-time stadium viewer said of last year’s game: “We’re not into sports, but our family and friends had a blast. The Mets - the whole experience - was just amazing.”
Shea provides a “Kids Fan Fest” area, wherein caregivers can view the game and active kids simultaneously.
For best seats, and seats together for large groups, the earlier you order the better. If you know any Mets fans, please feel free to forward this email to them.
For tickets or for more information please contact Liz Glass: or 646-287-3036
Cheers!
Kyle & Liz
and just to clarify a bit more:
Question from The Baker Blog http://thebakersanimationcartoons.blogspot.com/ :
I’m confused by Kyle Baker’s post re: Autism Awareness Day at Shea. Is he actually organizing a group to go to the game, or is he simply promoting it out of goodwill?Either way, as the parent of an autistic child, I’m interested in the former and thrilled by the latter. Please advise.
