ANNIE HALL KICKS OFF CLASSICS FOR CHICKS
Angelika Film Centers Bring Monthly Classics to the Big Screens

WHAT:  The Angelika Film Centers of Dallas and Plano will run special engagements of Classic films one a month through November.  ANNIE HALL kicks off the series and girls are encouraged to bring their friends or their sweetie to this one (he’ll like it too!)

DETAILS:  Ticket prices are $8.75 at the Angelika Plano and $9.25 at the Angelika Dallas.  Shows begin at 7:30 p.m.  There will be special prize giveaways at each screening; café specials are also available.

ABOUT THE FILM:  After breaking up with his girlfriend, Annie Hall (Diane Keaton), neurotic comedian Alvy Singer (Woody Allen) goes on a stream of consciousness journey through his memories of their relationship, trying to find out what caused them to part ways. He often breaks the fourth wall, speaking to the camera, and enters peoples’ stories.  (Rated PG, 93 minutes).

Sounds like a great lineup but how the heck does GREASE get in there?  Looking at the other films, I see stunning achievements, gripping stories and master directors and actors.  I don’t know if any of that applies to GREASE.

Great songs though in GREASE.  I don’t see any other movie that has that.

Meet Me in St. Louis is a big time musical.  But yeah, Grease seems a little of place with all the other great films.  I really want to see Casablanca, Rebecca and The Philadelphia Story.
