Two big conventions have come and gone already, but there are plenty more this summer.

Who’s going where?

I’ll be at San Diego volunteering at the Prism booth.  Also, CAPE is in Dallas, May 5th.

CAPE is Comic and Pop-Culture Expo.  It’s something that Zeus puts on with PopSyndicate and PVP.  This is our third year in having this event along with Free Comic Book Day.  So, that’s why it’s on May 5th.  Gail Simone is going to be there, David Mack, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Marc Andreyko, José Villarrubia..  I mean, we have some great guests to help draw a crowd, but its all free for attendee which is important to bring in indie artists and writers as well.

Personally, I think CBQ should make the trek.

Each year we’ve had a LGBT mixer the night before.  It’s a get together for all the gay customers and their chance to drink with some of the guests at a local gay bar.  Its amazing to me how many straights will turn up at Alexandre’s just to share a pint with a comic artist.

We’re able to put aside our fear of the gays for a few hours but afterwards we have to rip each others chest hair out and watch NASCAR.

My advice Stefan, if we ever have the next mixer at The Hidden Door, don’t accept drinks from anyone.

Just sayin’.

Ummm, boys? Linds? Can we dip into Steve’s trust fund? Or do I have to blow Eric’s rich uncle again?

Rich enough for a hot night for two at the Red Lobster.

Okay, he’s not rich.

He just has coupons.

Wow, that takes me back… I haven’t blown old guys for coupons since I was a struggling college student!  (I don’t where my grandpa got them all.)

Ah, memories.

Ok so I’m looking at B&B’s for WW Chicago.  Hotels are going to be a little steep for just one person.  I know next to nothin’ about Chicago.  What is Edgewater?
