Well, I’ve never read Wonder Woman except for that one issue where she killed Max Lord. Um…how can people not know her identity? In my limited knowledge of the character, wasn’t she a diplomat or something? At least that’s what I got from watching JLU.

As for the previews…damn! She’s only been gone a year and it’s like, “I know not of this mythical item that is ‘credit card!‘“

I love Winnicks run and Heinburg was awesome because they made her well spoken with a quick mind.

Its like what’s going on in Manhunter.  Why is Wonder Woman savvy enough to hire Kate Spencer but still seem confused by the legal wrangling of the judicial system?

This makes me a little sad to think of how awesome Whedon’s script would have been.

Do you mean Rucka’s run?  I don’t think Judd has ever written WW.

Better yet, do an Google Image search for spider-man.  Just make sure the “safe filter” is off.

Wow.  When you’re naked and body painted to look like Spider-Man, you’re much chunkier than I had imagined.  Red and blue just aren’t your colors.

My only experience with Wonder Woman was with Lynda Carter.  I started reading issue 1 of this current series and liked it.  Since I’m not a normal WW reader, I don’t really see what the big problem is.  But I admit #5 was crappy.

I’ll give Jodi Picoult first issue a shot, but i agreed with the podcast that #5 was quite the stinker.  i’m sure the writer & artist weren’t given much time, but i’m still annoyed that they got my $3 for it.

in general, i’m pretty irritated by all of these fill-ins on DC’s flagships lately - WW, Superman, Action.  it makes me not want to have them on my pull list since you end up feeling stuck buying the crap just to get the good issues.

POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT
POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT
POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT

As a long time WW fan, I found the issue O-K. Not stellar, not Heinburg (my supercrush), but ok. The piece about functioning in Man’s World with such naivety is a bit much. She has had adventures off planet, other dimensions, and with all sorts of villians for cripes sake. You would think she would not be so unschooled about using the subway or a credit card. Watching her fumble the subway made me want to return to the days WW #269 when she manages the subway saving someone on the platform, goes home to her flat with a bag full of groceries that breaks. That was a Wondy that was balancing a secret identity while living in the world.

Hell, 52’s Diana this week is on that I want to see as she sought meaning in her life she was able to be genuine and caring with Tim.

I hope that Jodi can get the being in the world part tweeked. I was excited to see Circe again but it made me yearn for my supercrush’s finish to his WW story.

I saw a board this week a desire for Marc Andreyko to write Wondy. Maybe after Jodi, Marc can have a chance to write WW. I am loving his Manhunter- after a fabulous recommendation from Eric and later Stevie. :)

I don’t have a local comic shop so I order my books for monthly delivery, three months in advance. Decided to pick up Wonderwoman for the first time. Looks like I picked exactly the most scientifically inappropriate time to give it a go! Do we think things will improve by three months time?

Kind Regards

Hello, new poster, love the podcasts, :), yeah, I checked out this issue, but didn’t buy it because we have another arc with Circe. Sure I like the character, but she isn’t my favorite Wonder Woman villain. We already have two arcs focused more on her than even the supporting characters.
I’d rather see some of the more campy villains I’ve talked with others about who just deserve the spotlight, like Minister Blizzard, Giganta, and Doctor Poison, who is actually one of the few lesbian villains I’m aware of.
I don’t know, I think at least with Greg Rucka, there was a clearer status quo, more supporting character spotlight, and more smart portrayals of Diana.

I picked up the issue, but haven’t read it yet. I’m kinda scared to. Though, I’m sure I’ll give the whole arc a shot, but if it doesn’t iron out, I’ll have to drop it (I mean, Circe again….already? Really?). Also, I wonder how much back story DC gave Jodi to write her issues? Did she go back and read any of the other WW runs (specifically, G. Perez & G. Rucka’s)?  Just from the preview, it did seem to read as if she’s completely new to “man’s world” as opposed to just being new to a secret I.D.  I read on another board that the whole credit card thing is plausible as when she was a public figure diplomat, she wouldn’t've had any need for one. So, when the line “credit card” is read as ”[Why would I need a] credit card?” it sorta makes sense.

I’ve said it before and will say it again and again until it’s fixed, DC editorally dropped the ball on this series big time. But, I’m gonna digress until i read the issue…....

WILDLY OFF-TOPIC:  Hey Stevie,  I sent you an email to work, but I think it may not have gone through.  Did you get email from me in the last hour or so?
