I see a pattern in my answers to the last three polls…Halloween is also my favorite series.

I disagree. I think the A nightmare on Elm Street was one of the best series in general. Movies like Re-animator and Texas Chaisaw can be considered potentialy the greatest horror films of all time, but their sequels sucked.

Texas Chainsaw 2 is gold.

I had to pick Re-animator, just because they are loosely based on an HP Lovecraft story, and I do mean loosely.

Besides, I didn’t think any of the sequels were fried gold or anything, but I thought they were pretty good.  Even though I own all of the Friday the 13th movies, they were absolutely unwatchable in the middle, and as far as I am concerned, redeemed themselves with Jason goes to Hell, then totally embarrassed themselves with Jason X.

I voted for the Friday the 13th series. That was the most consistent of all the choices…each as equally formulaic (Jason X being the exception) as the next. I like consistency and I love Jason!

I voted for Friday the 13th.  It’s just always been my favorite series of movies.  I just love the way Jason kills people.  He’s just always been my favorite.

I change my vote to Saw. Ok, they only have three movies out. But, the first three movies of all the others sucked. Watch all the Saw films in a row. You will gain new insight.

i think a new insight is saying too much. the first was great but watching all three in a row the only insight i would get would be mediocre movie insight.

All the ones listed have great original films, and horribly sucky sequels. No Romero’s ’...of the Dead’ series, guys? FOR SHAME!

cast one vote for the Dead series.  I love the first three and I liked Land.  Not seen Diary, yet, though.

Well said.  Friday the 13th got my vote as well.  It’s consistently slasherific!

I had to go with Nightmare on Elm Street because it’s the only one that I have seen all of the films. You gotta love Freddy! All the others I have only seen one or two because I find that as great as the original is the sequals tend to really suck! At least NOES is entertaining if a little on the crazy/rediculous side!
