I have always LOVED the Flash Gordon character/world...and this Eric Johnson guy’s not hard on the eyes, that’s for sure. I’m just hoping that it doesn’t go the “Smallville” route by making it “Dawson’s Creek in Space”.  I haven’t watched Crapville since the beginning of season 2 (except for the flesh fest that was the Justice League episode).

Please do Flash Gordon right!  I know I would! :o)

Whatever with AICN badmouthing the 1980 Flash Gordon movie.  Those straight boys got no appreciation for the camp.

Not hard on the eyes, but hard on the.... 

Maybe if this takes off someone will bring Buck Rogers back as well!

Hey...you want a Buck Rogers thread, go start one! This one’s devoted to Flash Gordon...whom I’ve always liked better. Did you ever see pictures of Buster Crabbe as Flash? He was a hearthrob *sigh*

And I LOVED the 1980 movie...I own it on VHS and still watch it occasionally to this day. I remember seeing it in the theater when I was a kid and thought it was the best thing ever! I even bought the treasury size comic adaptation of the film drawn by Al Williamson who is the quintessential Flash artist (much later he did a 2 issue of FG for marvel, and yes, I have those. Hell, I even have that crappy Dan Jurgens 12 issue series for DC!).

I think I said it before, but Flash Gordon totally made me gay.  The music, the gold outfits, the hair(!!!), the lack of shirts, the flying leathers bears… I could go on.
