What do you all do with comics you don’t want anymore?  My closet is bursting at the seams and i need to do some major editing to my collection.  I hate to just give them away to Good Will since i spent so much on them, but i’m also too lazy to deal with eBay.  I’ve done it before and it’s time-consuming.

In my comics-disposing fantasy, i just drop them off with someone who will sell them and split the profit with me but i don’t know if that exists.  Any ideas?

Do what I do and just burn them.

have a satanic sacrifice ritual/Wicker Man party with Chuck Austen’s X-Men run. It’s this season’s must party! And if enough people do it, it will be like it never existed at all. Think of what a wonderful ideal to strive for that is!

There are those ebay services out there, where they list them, ship them, and do everything else, but keep a huge chunk of the money.  But it might be worth it.

I got an email yesterday from a guy who looked at my wish list on stashmycomics.com, and is offering to sell me a bunch of issues of the Legion of Superheroes for a buck each, and I’ll probably take him up on it.  That might be another way to go, although there are some 90’s comics that I don’t think anyone would have on a wish list, except for a hairstylist looking for mullet models.

You want to get rid of your comics?

What kind of geek are you?

You keep all of your comics. You keep your old copies of GI Joe and Power Pack. You keep those old Velocity issue that you bought on a whim one day during a convention. You keep them all until your significant other finally tells you to get rid of them then you have to defer to a higher power. If he or she doesn’t say anything all the better.

I know - i’m a bad geek.  But my comics collection is like a hydra that has taken over my closet.  I cut off one head and two more grow in its place!  What to do, what to do…

I mean - there are books i know I will never get rid of (original JLA, Giffen-era Legion) but I ask myself - do I REALLY need to haul 3 boxes of Flash comics around with me through life?  Do I??  Do i really need those Power Pack Secret Wars II crossover issues?

i’m curious if anyone tried this site yet:  http://www.comicbookdb.com ?  It seems like stashmycomics.com but with a marketplace feature where it connects people that want to buy/trade issues with each other.  And thanks for your other suggestions, Eric!

I don’t know if you care about making money or not. If not, I know Lone Star Comics here in Dallas has a bin where you can take old comics and they will send them to the soldiers in Iraq.

Or, if you have some place that will let you do trade-ins for credit do that.
