Hey guys,

I know you’re going to be at CAPE and so is my podcast The Break Room.

Here’s the deal: we’re supposed to interview a bunch of these comic types and act as MCs or something. Tthe secret is that while I’m a casual comic book fan, I probably couldn’t carry a hefty conversation with most of them. The rest of the TBR crew is even less equpped than myself.

I’m bringing my recording equipment to do our show but I could use a helping hand on these interviews. If you’re not bringing your equipment to record, you’re more than welcome to use it Saturday to record a ton of interviews for CBQ and I can send you the files. I’ve got four mics, a mixer and two laptops to use.

Either way, I really need help or I’m going to look dumber than usual.

We should most def put the CBQ guys to work.

I’m also going to see if my friend Steve will load us his camcorder again for the event.  Zeus is working on getting WiFi for the event as well.

Cool. Well, if we can arrange a meet up on Saturday morning that would be great.

Yikes!  This sounds great, but our primary goal with our ‘cast is to build community among LGBTQ comics fans.  Our interviews, although not totally homocentric, would likely reflect that aim.  If that’s cool, then we’re in.  We’d also need a list of who’s getting interviewed and in what format so we could do some homework.

Marc, I think what my partner Eric is saying is: YES! YES! YES!  We would LOVE to help do the interviews (as long as we get to do some for ourselves as well). This is our first time at an event like this, so I can’t think of a better way to get to know the in’s and out’s of something like this from the seasoned ‘casters.

So, put us to work! Work it girl! Give a twirl! Do your thing, on the runway!

See…we’re so gay, I just made a RuPaul reference. Besides, how can I refuse someone with lips like yours? ;o)

Mark has a great set up.

Is that what we’re calling it these days?

I’m excited to see how the pros do it.  We only have a $25 mic we named Betsy, a handheld digital voice recorder (“Betsy, Jr.”), and a laptop that has seen better days.

Yeah, you’re more than free to do your own interviews for your own show.

Can we do a middle ground type deal? What I need for my show is like two 5-10 minute mixed-show interviews with like James O’Barr and maybe Tony Bedard that are sexual-preference neutral if that’s cool since we target everyone.

Then we can work something out to where we can run in shifts so you guys can do interviews targeted towards your audience for your show on our equipment and then we’ll be recording some other segments for our show as well througout the day.

Will that suffice for everyone?

I’m not sure where our table is but I’ll be there around 9:30 and we can work stuff out.

As to a list of people available for interview, here ya’s go:

Tony Bedard: Retro Rocket, CrosGen: Route 666, Negation, DC: Countdown, Marvel: Exiles

Gail Simone: DC: Wonder Woman, Birds of Prey, Gen 13, Rose and Thorn, All New Atom, Villains United
Scott Kurtz: PVP, PVP Cartoon

Roberto Aquirre-Sacasa: 3rd year at CAPE, Marvel: Marvel Knights Fantastic Four, Nightcrawler and Sensational Spider-Man

David Mack: Daredevil, White Tiger, Alias, Kabuki, Swamp Thing

Mike Huddleston:  Image: Deep Sleeper, DC: Harley Quinn, Mnemeovore, Man-bat

Jamie S. Rich: Oni:  Cut My Hair, I Was Someone Dead, The Everlasting, Love the Way You Love. Writes for DVDTalk.com.

Mark Andreyko:  DC: Manhunter, Nightwing Annual #2, Image: Casefiles of Sam and Twitch, Torso (Being made into a film).

Kristian Donaldson: IDW: Supermarket, Fallen Angel, Vertigo: DMZ.

Brian Denham: Marvel: Iron Man,

Jim Mahfood: Kevin Smith’s Clerks comics, Grrl Scouts, big indie film.

Jose Villarrubia: Batman Year 100, Ghost Rider, Spider-Man Reign, Desolation Jones

Lea Hernandez:  Ironclad Petal, Clockwork Angels, Rumble Girls

James O’Barr: The Crow

David Hopkins and Dallas Derby Devils: David is an indie guy.  His wife is on the Dallas Derby Devils.

You guys should team up and do all the interviews together.  It’s not like you have the same audience.

Plus, PopSyn already has some interviews on the site as good background material.
