Hey everyone,

Just wanted to FYI all of you that you can go to a MySpace page (http://www.myspace.com/comicbooks) and get a preview to the new DC series Countdown (the first issue-51, and half of the second-50). I liked 52. I liked the concept and I was engaged in the storyline for the whole year. But I get a more ACTION sense with Coutndown. I am truly excited as to where this goes as it explores the DC universes. And it has Troia (one of my all time faves). So check out the previews.

I love Donna Troy but it still makes me giggle that Troia means whore/slut in italian. I wonder if they did that on purpose.

i’m gonna give this one a little breathing room to see where it goes, but i gotta say i was a little underwhelmed by the first issue.  there were some interesting moments, but i still didn’t get a real sense of what this series is about.  with 52, it was about the missing year - and even though the story wandered a bit that was still a strong premise.  I still don’t know what Countdown is, and i guess i was hoping for a stronger set-up.

there’s obviously something going on with Darkseid, and the multiverse (which i’d love to know more about), but it all feels a bit random so far.  i’m still interested enough to go with it for awhile, though, and hope that it starts to tie together somehow.

and of course i look forward to seeing Trickster and Pied Piper handcuffed together - HOT!  and supposedly Trickter’s homophobia towards Piper is going to be an issue, according to the Dan Didio interview on Newsarama.
