"A young, moist, buxom teen vixen finds herself hurled into an odyssey of forbidden sex and unspeakable violence after an innocent evening dabbling in the occult. What started as a simple child's game has now become a fight for her life! What is this evil that she has summoned from beyond? And why does it have a fro? What kind of horrific acts will she be subjected to? And what price will her super-hot, half-nude friends have to pay? But more importantly, how much Caucasian blood will have to be shed to stop....the BLACK DEVIL DOLL?!!"
Black Devil Doll is a full length feature...
From the sick and twisted mind of Shawn Lewis, former editor and publisher of Blackest Heart Magazine and the creative force behind Rotten Cotton Graphics, comes the sleaziest Blaxploitation Horror film ever envisioned.
Five naive young women are raped, abused, tortured, and killed(?) by an evil jive-ass talking ventriloquist doll possessed by the spirit of an executed black militant death row inmate.
Who will survive? What will be left of them? Will their virginity be intact?
It's Chucky meets Dolemite in this violent, misogynistic, sleazy horror film directed by up and coming genre director Jonathan Lewis.
Not intended for children. Black Devil Doll features totally awesome scenes of murder and rape! No one under 17 will be admitted!
Black Devil Doll will be screened at horror conventions and film festivals world wide throughout most of 2008 and finally hitting DVD Halloween 2008!

This is exactly why you write for some crappy website and not a real publication. Black Devil Doll is NOT a remake of that lame flick from the 80’s. And if you would have done just 2 minutes of research, you would have known this. Apply some responsibility to your hobby or stick to flippin’ burgers, you f’n hack.

Yeah, I’ve read the press material, seen the trailer and visited the site. I mean the two look totally different. Both feature a black doll that rapes women. From the looks of the trailer, the only difference is that the women are white instead of black.
You can make any excuse you want, the two films have too much in common for it to be a complete coincidence. It’s like saying, Oh just because “Chaos” has all the same plot elements of “Last House on the Left”, it in no way resembles “Last House on the Left”.
Here is a clip for Black Devil Doll from Hell.

You’re right. It not like anyone would ever think the two films have anything in common. Now go back to living in your parent’s basement and be quite.
You can watch Black Devil Doll at the following screenings!
San Fransisco Bay Area - December 2007 (TBA)
Los Angeles California - December 2007 (TBA)
2008 schedule coming soon…

Stefan, you ignorant slut.
What are you going to say next? ..."Black people all look the same!” or maybe, “some of my best friends are black!”. You’re the worst kind of racist...the kind that can’t even smell your own stink.
And we all get it...you’ve seen “Chaos”. ewwwww! You’re so on The Edge. First, you say “the two look totally different”, then you proceed to drive your bulls*it point home again. Which is it?
How’s this: “Return of the Living Dead” is a remake of “Night of the Living Dead”? Sounds pretty stupid, huh?
p.s. I own my basement AND my parents house, you silly little douchebag.

You’re a special kind of stupid. That’s why you’re so pretty. I’m also glad logic and reason aren’t part of your normal dialog. I made no comment about trying to be edgy or made any racist comparison. Only a racist sees racist overtones where none exist. My point about them looking totally different is sarcasm but I wouldn’t expect you to know the difference.

Stefan, have you seen BDDFH? Doesn’t sound like it. Our film is NOT a remake. Period.
Posted by Stefan Halley on 10/15/2007, 09:50 AM
I have seen BDDFH. I did a podcast about it. I did change the original posting because I thought it was unfair to the filmmakers and wanted to make things right. At this point I’m just arguing the with some smug a-hole about the film that I can only assume neither of us have seen.
I would love to see your film and offer up an honest review. If you guys are interested in doing an interview about the movie, we would love to do an interview. I don’t believe that Black Devil Doll is a remake but there is more than a passing resemblance between the two films.
BTW, do you work/are friends with “Mayhem”?
Posted by F13 on 10/15/2007, 11:40 AM
If this film isn’t a remake then it’s just a blatant ripoff. Disagree? submit to an interview with Stefan and prove it…
Hack.
Oh and Mayhem? The best you can do is ripoff lines from Kentucky Fried Movie? You MUST be one of the people responsible for this “film”.
Love the poster by the way! Total exploitation retro, I don’t know why someone would think that this is a remake of an older film..
OH and as for calling people racist? if this ISN’T a BDDFH ripoff then it’s a blaxploitation version of Childs Play. I’m on the phone with Al Sharpton right now! you’re about to be flooded with black activists and jewish lawyers… wait that sounded kind of racist.
crap.

Hello Antioch/Generic Bay Area, Californians. You guys are so Comcastic.
If you would care to submit review materials, feel free and we’ll get it done and someone will give it the once over.
Admittedly I know nothing about either film because I’m a horror film idiot, but if it’s not a remake, why do they both have “Black Devil Doll” in the title, but one adds a spicy “From Hell”?
Is it a sequel? If it’s neither, then what is it?
Posted by F13 on 10/15/2007, 01:40 PM
Antioch huh? Yeah that’s the general area (Richmond-ish) where Shawn (owner of Rotten Cotten shirt company and new defunct Blackest Heart media)is based out of. Vanity Google search much?
I saw you guys at the San Jose Fango convention and bought a shirt. Talked to you a bit about how I missed Blackest Heart too. Bummer you’re being such a douche about this.
This is akin to Vanilla Ice saying “no no if you listen to it.. it’s different.” It’s not different dude.

I’m being a douche? What the smurfin are you talking about? All I said was, the film is NOT a remake. How is that being a douche?
I have no idea who this Mayhem person is…
You want to know whats douchey? Judging a film before having seen it. All the whining is based on a 4 minute trailer. Maybe you should actually see it first?
When the film is out, it will be available for review. Its still in post production, not even done yet.
We are here for interviews. Just email.
To be clear. Our film is a homage to Black Devil Doll From Hell at best. It was one of our inspirations. We have said this all along and have NEVER denied it. Read the myspace, do some research before talking shit.
And yes we were inspired by Childs Play and a ton of other “evil-doll” films. So our film isn’t 100% original. So what! Who gives a shit? We never claimed to be original. Its a B exploitation film. Its supposed to be fun. Thats all. Stop being so smurfin serious and lighten the smurfin up. Its about a black puppet banging and killing girls. And all you want to do is scream Remake and Douche?
Yes the puppet is black. Yes he has sex. Yes the title is similar. If thats enough for you to cry remake cool. Whatever makes you happy.
Just enjoy it for what it is and smurfin relax. This is stupid.
Posted by shawn on 10/15/2007, 04:46 PM
This board is lame. the word"smurfin" isn’t even in my vocabulary.

“If this film isn’t a remake then it’s just a blatant ripoff. Disagree? submit to an interview with Stefan and prove it…

Wow you guys are out of control.
We are hear for interviews. We have always been here. We aren’t hiding or not granting interviews. We are happy to do so.
So now I’m a Hack huh? Okay. Whatever. Been called worse.
Once again. The script, plot, subplot, characters, dialog, have nothing in common with BDDFH. Nothing. The trailer should make that pretty clear.
If the word “remake” helps you sleep at night and you can’t live without it, fine. Go for it. Call it what you will.
Thanks for the interest and chill the hell out.
Posted by F13 on 10/15/2007, 05:03 PM
I’m imagining a lot of words aren’t in your vocabulary.
Okay if you’re disavowing any alliegance with Mayhem (even though you apparently live less than two miles apart) fine. MAYHEM is the douchebag and smurf him right in his smurfhole.
Hey, I wont even let this get in the way of me buying fine high quality Rotten Cotten shirts AND giving your film a fair shake!
Posted by shawn on 10/15/2007, 05:08 PM
Why are you being such a an A$$hole?
We have many many fans and customers that live all over Antioch and the Bay Area. I’m not responsible for their comments.
Posted by Mayhem on 10/15/2007, 06:17 PM
I live that close to Shawn? Cool. But how weird is it that you actually took the time and effort to get that information? Don’t make me file a restraining order, Creepy McCreepster!
Now please excuse me while I continue my quest of protecting the integrity of killer puppet movies around the globe.
My work is done here.
Posted by F13 on 10/15/2007, 07:02 PM
All that work? Two clicks boyo. Thank you information superhighway!
Posted by Stefan Halley on 10/15/2007, 09:09 PM
um...ok, this went to a really uncomfortable place really quick. Shawn, I appreciate you coming on here and defending your work. Making a film is difficult and anyone that can commit to doing one should be lauded (well not everyone...you hear me Ulli Lommell?).
I have no problem with you or your film.
Posted by F13 on 10/15/2007, 10:00 PM
Nor I. I just have a problem with stupid interweb fanboys that come on websites and anonymously talk shite.
For the record I got salty because I thought you two were the same and I was genuine when I said I would continue to be a customer of your clothing line and give your film a fair shot.
