Dario Argento might be crazy
I have come to the conclusion that Dario Argento was very confused back in the early to mid 80’s. He gave us a film called Inferno about a witch named Mater Tenebrarum and a few years later a film called Tenebrae. What I cant figure out is why these two are named what they are? Sure there is a fire in Inferno but the whole thing only plays out for the final 30 minutes or so and sure there was a book in Tenebrae called “Tenebrae” but it had no real backstory as to why it was called what it was. All in all they are both very good films. Tenebrae is one of my all time favorite Giallos and Inferno (while not quite as good as Suspiria) rocked my effing socks when I saw it on an old Key Video VHS I found at the Salvation Army. I highly recomend both films.
