Fangoria reports today that there WILL be a sequel to Neil Marshall's successful film "The Descent".
After showing a slightly recut trailer (with a good amount more blood/beheadings) at the UK FrightFest for his upcoming film DOOMSDAY, Director Neil Marshall took the stage for a little of the ol' Q&A. In a disappointing but unfortunately all too common move, he says he won't be directing but will be executive producing and in his words "overseeing every aspect of the film". The director this time around is Jon Harris, the editor of the first film and also SNATCH, L4yer Cake, and Stardust.
I don't have high hopes for this and don't think The Descent needs a sequel but only time will tell if it's a worthless slab of crap or not. This is Jon Harris' chance to prove himself as a director by either succeeding and making a worthy sequel to a phenomenal film or failing miserably and churning out another slice of shit pie to populate the already festering current horror film scene.
GOOD LUCK JON

I saw this coming but I was hoping it wouldn’t happen.
