Romero finds life for the latest dead

Diary of the Dead has been picked up by the Weinstein company! "The Weinstein brothers have been busy at the Toronto film festival, where they picked up the distribution rights to George A Romero's latest zombie outing, titled Diary of the Dead. The Weinstein Co paid a reported $2m to $2.5m for the rights in a deal that secures a theatrical release for the movie, which centres on a group of film students who run into real life denizens of the undead while filming a zombie flick." http://film.guardian.co.uk/news/story/0,,2167484,00.html To me it's a shame that the man that single handedly defined a genre of horror films is submitting his work to a film festival and looking for distribution buuuut then Land of the Dead WAS pretty sub-standard and as we all know you're only as good as your last box office take. I've not seen Diary of the Dead yet and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for something great to lift my spirits for the coming "winter" because the next project ol Georgie boy is discussing is a Zombie Comedy.... ..oh lord.
