Batman 3 Rumors Begin

In a bit of rumor news that will surprise no one, Angelia Jolie has “reported” expressed interest in playing Catwoman in the next Batman film.
The first of the Batman rumors begin and while this rumor doesn’t seem implausible, without a solid commitment from Nolan or Bale or anyone signed on for a script, it’s a bit early to start suggesting that Catwoman would be part of the next Batman film.
If Jolie is actually interested in the role, that would certainly push the film to include the character. Of course, it’s not clear if they would just continue with the 2004 Catwoman character, which featured Halle Berry, or if they would reinvent the character again to go closer to the comic book.
As everyone is trying desperately to forget that Berry’s Catwoman ever existed and the fact that Christopher Nolan has taken the franchise in a more realistic direction, if they do include Catwoman in the next film, I suspect it will be more in continuity with the comic books instead of whatever the hell the Catwoman movie was.

I doubt the idea of continuing the Berry story would even be on their minds. Given the way the movies are going now, it will be a complete reinvention and yes, more likely more in-line with her origins as a master thief than any silly “brought back to life by cats and bent on revenge” stories that hampered Berry’s version or the Pfeifer take.
As for Jolie? Eh. I have nothing against her, but I think they’d be better off going with someone slightly less high-profile.
