Watchmen Actors in Costume

Director Zach Snyder (you know the guy that directed 300) has graced us with photos from his version of Watchmen. As any good comic book fan knows, Watchmen is one of the sacred cows of comicdom. The potential for this to suck is high. As we all know Hollywood doesn't translate Alan Moore very well. If these first photos are any indication of what's to come, I think there is hope that it will be good. Certainly better than LXG.

Wow, they actually made Patrick Wilson look even MORE like a scary pedophile than he did in Hardy Candy! Good Job!!
All kidding aside, I like the costumes. They’re absurd yet striking, and while there are changes, if you’re familiar with the look of the comic, you’re definitely reminded of it in these pictures. And it’s crazy, ‘cause you have all these elaborate costumes, then you’ve got Rorschach, it’s a very subtle look. I love how Synder explained the effects process for the changing of the inkblots on his mask.
Y’know, these look pretty good (especially Roarschach, absolutely perfect), but why does every movie superhero suit have to be rubber-muscle faux Bat-armor? I’d be more impressed if somebody took a different approach one of these days—Night Owl and Ozymandius are especially overdone-looking.
Ozymandius does look over done but the rest look awesome. I can’t believe how good these characters look. I love Night Owl and Comedian looks full on bat shit crazy. I do feel better about the movie now.
