Well, it looks like Anita was saved from her onstage executioner (otherwise it would have been a really, really short series as a comic and a novel) and now she has taunted the vampires and is now being taken to the master, Nikolaos (CUE Scary Music) in Anita Blake Vampire Hunter: Guilty Pleasures #2. Her mouth pushes it a little too far, though, and she ends up getting smacked into a wall, but she is saved in a manner that may be a blessing and a curse.
After all the exciting events, she is being “kept” in a basement. But now she has more than vampires and the undead to worry about. She has found the normal denizens of the cellar abode, only this version rodentiathrope (I don’t care what inaccurate term the books use).
The story still is only so-so but at least it is more linear and less-mind-boggling than the first issue. Despite that fact the first issue still sold out and is going into 2nd print. Now if only Marvel and especially Dabel Brothers will update their websites so this information is more accessible instead of having to go onto Wizard’s website to pull the images and get the details.
Laurell K. Hamilton - Writer
Stacie M. Ritchie - Story Adaptation
Brett Booth - Pencils & Cover
