The newest version of Avengers Next has launched and it has a team of B-list heroes wondering if they should be worthy of the job or if they are even wanted. American Dream tries to lead them, filling the shoes of Captain America. Unfortunately her team is reluctant and has no ambition for the most part. The only person wanting to do battle is Sabreclaw, whom they aren’t sure if he’s on their side or the enemy’s.
A thief named Warp steals some data from the Avengers mansion and soon his boss and her muscle attack the Avengers with zombie version of themselves. Spidergirl has to come in undercover and Thunderstrike is missing.
Once again we have Marvel dealing with zombies because the Marvel Zombies series was so popular and the company is beating an undead horse as much as they can to try and have another sellout series. It probably won’t happen with this lame story. The best part of this first issue is the art.
