What nightmares haunt the minds of the Outsiders… well, half the Outsiders since this series kinda left out some of the characters like… and… well let’s not think so hard about that one. Psycho Pirate (and really what kind of self respecting villain calls himself anything Pirate and refuses to do the “arrr” and the “yahh” accent) is feeding on the Outsiders and only Batman can save them from their own nightmares… OH NO!! BATMAN UNLEASHES THE TRUE HORROR OF HIS MOST POTENT WEAPON!! What? Find out… inside!
Shouldn’t this have been shown on Halloween since it’s about nightmares and stuff? Missed opportunity there. Anyway Batman busts in on Psycho Pirate leeching off the Outsiders feeding on their nightmares (or the negative energy generated from their nightmares) and it’s up to Batman (to hook up to a strangely vacant pod in the room set up) to save them from their worst nightmares… strange, eh?
First it’s Katana and she has a typical oh my master died and it’s my fault that’s why I don’t talk much anymore.
Then it’s Black Lightning and his strange rage over everything. SUVs. Sprinkles in coffee. LOLdogs (NO! Not LOLDogs!). Star Wars : The Clone Wars coming after Batman… ok, maybe not that. Oh, and apparently whoever wrote this episode has a major mad on against… Barney. Barney, people, of all things Barney… sure, I can see that totally but whatever… oh, and after he saves each member of the Outsiders they each join Batman in helping the next member.
Finally it’s Metamorpho and his alienation from humanity that freaks him out (not apparently his origin from Justice League).
As for Batman… strange though Batman’s nightmare has NOTHING to do with his usual nightmares (death of his parents, Barbara being crippled by the Joker, the death of the second Robin… what? Most of that stuff probably didn’t happen in this series? Oh…) but he still can bring out his greatest weapon against the Psycho Pirate… HAPPY THOUGHTS!!
Yeah, that should be evil. Batman… having HAPPY THOUGHTS… what? Hmm… didn’t Catwoman guest star at the start of the episode? Hmm… (lick lick)... HAPPY THOUGHTS… oh? Anyway never mind. (no more creepy lip licking). Let’s see… hey! Another good episode… maybe at long last the not so good episode era is done and we’re going to get hit after hit after his nonstop! Now that’s going to be fine. Going to start like Batman again if it keeps this positive roll going (just like how Star Wars The Clone Wars is back in it’s zone and going strong with a great slam bang action episode this week). 5 out of 5. See you next week.
