As someone who's read one too many spoilers by accident due to the absence of a warning, I'm going to try to be very careful with what shows up on the teaser here...

So for those of you living in a cave, or perhaps a tad behind on your Tivo viewing, I’m going to ramble for a minute so that the information I’m about to spoil doesn’t show up until after the jump… is this long enough? Maybe I better write a little more just to be sure… that should just about do it… I think I’m safe now…

SPOILER WARNING…

What the frak?

THAT’S how they killed Starbuck? The best pilot in the galaxy, the person who flew a solo mission back to Cylon-occupied Caprica to get the magic arrow thing, the woman who ripped the guts out of a Cylon raider and flew it back to Galactica… died by flying her ship into a CLOUD?

I admit it was a pretty good episode overall, but they’ve gotta be kidding with that.

So Kara Thrace had a messed up childhood with an abusive, overbearing mother. Who would have guessed it? Pretty much everybody, I would think. There had to be a reason (other than her fiancé dying) why she was the most frakked-up person in the fleet (with the possible exception of Baltar).

I’m glad that wasn’t really Leoben in her head.

Was she seeing things, or were the Cylons messing with her somehow? It seemed like maybe Apollo saw that last raider for a second, but I wasn’t sure. It also appeared that her windshield had an actual hole in it, but then her Viper didn’t have a scratch from the collision she claimed to have had the first time.

That last scene with Adama was intense. Enough said.

The big question on many peoples’ minds is, of course: Is Starbuck one of the “final five” Cylons? It would certainly make her return possible, considering her consciousness could be downloaded to another body, but there are a lot of problems with it, not the least of which is that it would be so obvious. Or maybe they’re using reverse psychology on us… we think it’s so obvious that it couldn’t be, so we let our guard down and BANG there she is.

I guess the fact that I’m overthinking this whole thing is more proof of how good this show is.
