Cloak and Shag Her

image
Lesbian super-spies abound in this Austin Powers parody.

Is it possible to make a spoof of a spoof? Seduction Cinema attempts to answer that question with Cloak and Shag Her, their latest T&A parody of a popular mainstream film, namely the Austin Powers franchise.

We kick things off in the year 1969, where super-spy April Flowers: Girl of Mystery (Julian Wells) is in the middle of some soft-focus lesbian love-making. Her superior Basil Shagalittle shows up to inform her that the evil Dr. Mean (Darian Caine) has traveled 50 years into the future, to 2019, where she intends to perfect a way to turn the flower power generation into a mob of war mongers. For some reason, Mean has also cloned herself, the result being a topless dancer named Bitters. Somehow, Flowers and Basil travel to the future (they don’t really bother explaining that part) and tons of lesbian sex and bad jokes follow.

Directed by underground filmmaker William Hellfire, Cloak and Shag Her lacks some of the punchiness of previous Seduction parodies. A lot of the dialogue is spoken so flatly it almost reeks of boredom. And the faux British accents? Ugh. But this isn’t about the script and line-delivery, is it? No, it’s purely about the flesh, and there’s plenty of it here. Sure, it’s the same three women that Seduction has put in every movie since the dawn of time (Wells, Caine, and AJ Khan), but for the first time in a while, Wells seems genuinely excited to be partaking in the simulated sex. So it has that going for it, at least. Oh, and there’s a kung-fu ape.

Bonus features include a lively, if somewhat vapid, running commentary by Hellfire and producer Michael Raso. A lot of patting on each others’ backs is done. A behind-the-scenes featurette is worth it just for co-star Ruby Larocca discussing how April Flowers is a roll model for children. Jaw-droppingly wrong, yet hilarious. A second disc included in the package turned out to be a CD soundtrack to the film, with music by something called Trigger Finger.

Cloak and Shag Her isn’t the best of the Seduction Cinema parodies by far, but it still has plenty of T&A in it, so, really, does it need anything else?
