Adam Resurrected, starring Jeff Goldblum – apparently even clowns cry (and bark too).
Based on the novel, Adam Ben Kelev (Adam Son of Dog) written by Yoram Kaniuk and directed by Paul Schrader (American Gigolo), Adam Resurrected is the story of German entertainer named Adam Stein. Before the war, he wows audiences by performing magic, reading minds and basically “clowning” around. During the Holocaust, he avoids the gas chamber by playing the violin for Jews as they are lead to the gas chambers. Tormented by guilt and grief, Stein eventually becomes an inmate at an asylum in Israel composed of Holocaust survivors.
Oscar worthy performance by Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic Park), also starring Willem Dafoe (Spider-Man 1,2 & 3) as Commandant Klein and Ayelet Zurer (Munich) as sexy nurse Gina Grey.
Adam Resurrected will be screened again this evening at 7:45pm at NorthPark. For other shows and times,
check out the schedule at AFI DALLAS. I know the festival is halfway through, but there’s so much more to see!
