Jim Breuer: Let’s Clear the Air

Jim Breuer’s latest piece of work is a breath of fresh air. Not too raunchy and just the right amount of funny.

Known for his outrageous skit “Goat Boy” on Saturday Night Live, Jim Breuer takes the stage in this Comedy Central performance that gives viewers a good look at his views on family, among other things.

The special opens with us meeting Jim’s family as he prepares to go to his taping of the special. We meet his three daughters, his wife, and his elderly parents. This in itself puts the viewer into fits of giggles as we actually get to see that his family is as crazy as he is.

Jim takes us into his family dynamic as he talks about his three daughters and what a blessing children are. He gives one of the funniest visuals of a quick chat with God when he gets his third daughter.

I think my favorite part of the entire special is when Jim offers his views on how different people view success and what it means to them. I will never be able to look at a kangaroo the same again. My sides still hurt from laughing.

Have you ever wondered what goes through a father’s head when he is forced to deal with three young daughters on their own? Or what happens first thing in the morning in a family home. This segment will have parents rolling on the floor with laughter as he explains how kids totally commit to playing.

I would not say this is even in the top ten comedic DVDs I’ve ever seen, but Jim Breuer definitely has some talent when it comes to making people laugh. No small part of this is the way he looks and how easily he is amused with himself. Fans of the comedian will also recognize him from role in the movie Half Baked. Jim tells us how he got the role from his friend Dave Chappelle and how he totally credits his looks for getting him the role as the stoner. If you don’t know what Jim Breuer looks like, you just need to watch the DVD to know what I am talking about.

Let’s Clear the Air is a truly funny DVD. It is not your typical vulgar fest that some comedians feel the need to present. There is a little bit of profanity in it, but it is mild and it is pretty funny.

I have to go on record as saying though, you get to the really good stuff when you head in to the menu for the extra features. Don’t be too quick to click on the features, you’ll want to watch the portion where you usually get nice music. Breuer crawls into bed with his grumpy dad and it is hilarious.

Once you get past that, click on the photo shoot and watch. When you are done DO NOT miss the Fireside chat with Jim and his dad. It is just too damn funny.

This is a great DVD for comedy fans, and I don’t think anyone will be disappointed in the end result. Really funny stuff.
