Jo Koy: Don’t Make Him Angry

Warning: Do not eat or drink while watching Jo Koy: Don’t make Him Angry. And if you do, don’t say I didn’t warn you. You’ll have no one to blame but yourself for the stains on the carpet and furniture.

Comedy Central? You think good comedians. Right? Well, when I looked at the title of this, whatever I expected it to be referring to I would have never imagined the point. I am going to be totally honest here and tell you that I spent most of this DVD sitting with my head between my knees trying to catch my breath and the other half with my legs crossed trying not to pee on myself from the laughter.

Jo Koy: Don’t Get him Angry was so damn funny, I could barely stand it. I’ve watched this thing three times already. Jo Koy spends a fair amount of time poking fun at his own family, his wife, his mother, and especially his son, but it is all in good fun. I mean, you have to see him describing his son’s favorite thing to play with.

And the phone call between him and his wife while he was on a trip. Oh cripes, it was priceless.

But by far, my favorite part of the entire DVD is when he replays an experience while playing Wii with his mother. I swear I almost choked.

Jo Koy is not only funny, but he is articulate. So often comedians mumble and rely on cultural dialects and swearing to get a laugh, but the joy of Jo Koy is his priceless ability to tell a story. It’s not just talking smack about someone else, it’s about making the most of your life and what is funny. Don’t get me wrong, he has his share of F* bombs, but his stories and good looks make those cases worth while.

A special treat for the ladies out there, Jo Koy has the dreamiest eyes and a stunning smile, it wasn’t until the second viewing of this that I discovered that, because he is just too funny.

Remember the days of slipping in the Eddie Murphy, Bill Cosby, or Richard Pryor video cassettes for the party laughs in the 80’s? Jo Koy is every bit as funny as those masters and he should definitely be honored as one of this eras funniest men. Jo Koy: Don’t Get him Angry is a true hit with me.

One of the other really cool things about this DVD are the bonus features. I watched every single one of them, and usually I just roll with the gag reels and move on. These are all part of the awesome package. Kudos to Comedy Central and Jo Koy!

I’ll look him up.  I discovered Jeff Dunham on Comedy Central and now I have all of his DVDs.
