LOST packed in the creepy chills.
Jin’s reentrance to the plot dropped him eerily into Russou’s first experiences on the island where he sent chills down my spine with just one word: “Monster.” Awesome delivery, Daniel Dae Kim. Mayhem ensued as the great Cerberus chomped, chomped, luring the French to their doom. I could not have been more spooked when Smoke Demon pulled the body sans arm into the Temple.
Next Jin blasted forward just enough to see the mysterious “disease” unfold. No wonder Danielle killed them all. Daddy-O’s reach for his gun let us in on the secret of the temple—those returning from Cerberus reveal another force all together, something predating Ben, predating Dharma, possibly predating Pirate Richard and the Others. The writer’s have finally let Ancient One separate itself from the pack of dueling Satans (that’d be Ben Linus and Charles Widmore.)
Meanwhile, Charlotte’s bloody noses worsen with each Flash Bam and her roving mind offers us clues to her past and Faraday’s future. She remembers something that hasn’t happened yet! Yes, Rebecca Mader freaked me out with her performance. My mind began to reel with her pronouncement, “Daniel, I think you were that man.”
Finally, one of the reasons I like this show so much is because you are never really certain who is on the side of good and who is on the side of evil. I love that feeling: wanting to like a character, but not quite certain if I should. John Locke’s character always has me whirling back and forth. I still don’t know if he’s batting for a home team, but this episode settled the score: he at least thinks he’s batting for the home team. He’s noble through and through, ready to die for the cause. Terry O’Quinn gave a stomach turning performance with his Green Mile. Go, Terry, Go!
Too bad the creepy Christian Shephard waited in the darkness. Despite his holy name, we still don’t know if this guy has everyone’s back or just their number.
At least I enjoy being this freaked out. I’ve enough questions progressing to an answer to keep me tuned in next week.
