Rock on!
Tickle Me Pink is a phrase you’d associate with kid’s songs. But this Fort Collins, Colo., band adds a punk flair that will have hard rock fans clamoring for more. The incredible success of tickle me pink’s debut hard rock album is a bittersweet tribute to a fallen bandmate, who was found dead the day the album was released. If you want hard rock then Tickle Me Pink is your band.
The death of a new band in a highly competitve market could break the career of wannabe hard rockers. But these dedicated – and highly talented – young men from Fort Collins, Colo., won’t let that stop them. They plan to carry on for their bandmate, Ex Guitarist Johnny Schou, dedicating their U.S. Tour to his memory. He was replaced by a temporary bassist for their tour of the country, the tour starting in California.
The 11 tracks on the album are about drug use and the harm we do to our bodies. They sing of Madeline, an imaginary figure, as someone who is on
drugs and needs help to get off them. She seems reluctant to try.
The group’s debut song off the Madeline album is called Typical. The lyrics are anything but. They take listeners through the journey of a man who refuses to sleep with a woman named Madeline because she whores herself out for dope. I felt sorry for her in her decision making. Two men, Sean Kennedy and Steven Beck, play guitar and are lead vocals. Stefan Runstrom is their drummer and Johnny Schou was their backup vocalist and doubled on bass and guitar.
The album also contains a DVD of Tickle Me Pink performing live before an enthusiastic crowd in Fort Collins. The DVD makes the CD more real since we get to see them perform all the songs that are on the album. The DVD was made before the death of Schou and it’s eerie to watch since you know he is no longer with us.
They are, however, similar to the 1980s rock of Led Zeppelin. The music is heavy rock with good vocals by Kennedy and Beck. Look for the first track off their album, Typical, to air on MTV. You can find out more about the group at http://www.ticklemepink.com.

This cd is a really really great cd! I love it and listen to the whole album like once a day! But I do have to make a correction Led Zeppelin did not make any ‘80s music they disbanded in 1980 after the death of their drummer, their last cd was made in 1979.

You need to listen to this album again! You obviously didn’t pay enough attention to the lyrics because they are not all about “drug use and harm to our bodies”.
