Rogue is attacking Ms. Marvel for no apparent reason. Rogue yells and screams about being attacked earlier in the evening, but Ms. Marvel has no clue as to what she is talking about. Then the truth unfolds as they discover another Ms. Marvel in the real Ms. Marvel’s bed (don’t go there, guys). The “Doppelganger” in Ms. Marvel #9 seems to have lived through the same experiences and pain that Rogue inflicted on this world’s Carol Danvers, but the only exception was our Ms. Marvel was able to forgive and forget while the other version, attired as and with the moniker of Warbird (like our Ms. Marvel used to go by), seems to have a little growing up to do.
But just as soon as Carol has gone and explained how she has gotten over the hurt that Rogue had caused, she twists off and attacks Warbird. After a disastrous battle they end up in the lab where Beast can look at some data to try and figure out what is going on in this 2-part storyline.
Not necessarily a new story concept, but it may show some butt-kicking between Rogue and Ms. Marvel that fans have been waiting for. Not to mention that Wieringo’s art looks pretty spectacular in this issue and the flashback scenes are helped by Chris Sotomayor’s colors. Definitely one of the better Marvel picks of the week.
