The most fun you can have on “reality TV”.

Rob & Big is an MTV reality series based around pro skater Rob Dyrdek and his best friend and personal body guard Christopher “Big Black” Boykin. The show is centered around the two friends moving into a house in Hollywood and the situations that arise when two guys have tons of money and nothing to do but waste time.

Unfortunately Rob & Big falls into the category of “soft scripted” reality TV. They are obviously put into situations by the producers or directors that will most likely lead to comedy and/or interesting interactions with the community around them. They join the like of The Hills, Laguna Beach, The Simple Life and countless other quote unquote reality TV shows. But here is where they differ; you actually like Rob and Big. Unlike the snotty kids of The Hills and the Paris Hiltons of most reality TV shows, Rob and Big are not taking life or the show to seriously. They are just having fun.

How can you not have fun when the stars of the show are a 150 pound skater with a terrible sense of style and his 400+ pound best friend? Rob is able to get away with doing almost anything he wants in any situation considering he always has his body guard present to take care of any trouble he might start. With situations that include helping Big lose some weight, throwing a birthday party for Rob, buying a baby bulldog, buying a mini horse (which lives in the backyard), going on blind dates, trying to time travel, and even hanging wallpaper the two friends always have fun and always get along.

You get all 16 episode of season 1 and 2 in one box, which is defiantly a bonus. So if you are looking for new show to add to your guilty pleasure list look no further. This is a show all about fun, and you are sure to have fun watching.
