Sanctuary (2.03): Eulogy

Druitt is busy killing everyone affiliated with the Cabal and Magnus is obsessed with the idea that their daughter is still alive.

I’ll be honest, I do not remember much of this episode outside of the Kate and Henry sideplot, and you can’t make me watch it again. Not much happens in this episode. There is very little action, which is understandable because the team is reeling from the loss of Ashley. I found the Xbox much more entertaining at the time, and frankly I don’t think many would blame me. Amanda Tapping is not a bad actress, but she cannot act and keep the accent on to save her life. Heyerdahl is much better, but he mostly just broods and goes to kill in this episode.

Henry and Kate is good. I would not say Agam could win an award, she is not that convincing yet at all.  The pixie made me want to change the channel, instead I just tuned the show out and focused on my game. The monster that Kate unleashed was cute, especially when it decided she must be it’s mom.  This seemed a bit out of place juxtaposed to Magnus coming to terms with the loss of Ashley about the same time.

This was not really one episode, it was two of them badly sandwiched together with a stupid pixie thrown in. Had these been two separate offerings, there would have been more room for development. More Druitt would have been great, along with more Henry. Maybe next time.
