In the Slayers Universe magic, gods, and monsters are common place. Funimation has brought The Slayers first three seasons to the table in one spiffy box sex. Each season is 26 episodes of magic and mayhem. The box is set up with a flip through case with two discs on each page each covered with fun bright Slayers artwork. The box itself is set up like a menu which as you will find, food is a big part of Lina’s journeys. Even if she has to travel out of her way if there is an inn she will go there and she will eat two servings of everything on the menu!

If Gourry doesn’t beat her to it first. Every great journey is accompanied by great companions. Here Lina and Gourry over time become lifelong partners. Gourry is Lina’s protector and he has no intention of leaving her. Lina wants Gourry’s sword of light and she won’t leave him alone until he gives it to her.  Zelgadis, a chimera, who specializes in shamanistic sorcery begins an enemy but is eventually pulled into Lina’s circle. He may prefer to be alone but he’ll have a better chance of getting his body back to normal with the help of an expert sorceress. Amelia is a Princess with a passion for Justice! She cannot stand back and let evil run the show! Though at times she finds herself confused as to who is the true bad guy, in the end her righteous passion for justice has the bad guys down for the count! As other companions come and go these four will carry you through the series.

They will make you laugh, cry, and experience the fear of chaos. I don’t know how I went so long without Lina but she has entered a sacred space with my all time favorite shows. Hopefully seasons 4 and 5 can make their way here as well. Now that I have seen the greatness of Slayers I’m going to be judging them that much harder. Can anyone ever be as cool as Lina Inverse?
