Interestingly enough, E! Online is calling shenanigans on NBC for Heroes’ ratings, as they made use of a new Nielsen rule for recounts. NBC originally aired the show last Monday, but reaired it Saturday night, where it rated an additional 3 million pairs of eyes. Nielsen says that nets are now allowed to count numbers from rebroadcasts IF they also air the same commercials. The new rule is part of Nielsen’s attempts to adapt to the increased time-shift viewing available via DVRs.
Other networks are crying foul and as a result, the rule is now under review by Nielsen Net Ratings. But for now, it stands.
The top ten broadcast shows for the week are as follows:
1. CSI (CBS) 14.9 / 25.220
2. Dancing With the Stars - Monday (ABC) 13.5 / 21.247
3. Grey’s Anatomy (ABC) 13.2 / 20.926
4. Dancing With the Stars Special - 9/25 (ABC) 12.2 / 18.505
4. Desperate Housewives (ABC) - 12.2 / 19.317
6. Dancing With the Stars Result (ABC) - 11.1 / 16.811
