No, not the 80’s pop sensation but former mobster wife Edie Falco to television.
“Sopranos” alum Edie Falco will return to cable early next year according to Hollywood Reporter. Falco’s new series has been fast tracked by Showtime to start airing in February. The untitled dark comedy will feature Edie as a “strong-willed, iconocalstic New York nurse juggling the frenzied grind of an urban hospital and equally challenging personal life.” We’ll have more as details become available.
Showtime is looking to take the reigns from HBO as the premiere cable network. With series like “Dexter” and “Weeds”, they’re on the right track. The recently announced the addition of the Diablo Cody mental health comedy “The United States of Tara” and they maybe possibly adding “Possible Side Effects” from Tim Robbins.
