HBO to present Schindler’s List on April 21st, Holocaust Remembrance Day

This marks the first time in eight years the Oscar winning film, Schindler’s List has been seen on television. In Perpetuity:The Story of the USC Shoah Foundation Institute to debut immediately following the film’s HBO debut.

On Tuesday, April 21 (9:00 p.m.-12:15 a.m. ET), HBO marks Yom HaShoah, the Holocaust Remembrance Day, with a special presentation of the multiple Academy Award winner Schindler’s List.  Liam Neeson, Ben Kingsley, Ralph Fiennes, Caroline Goodall, Jonathan Sagalle and Embeth Davidtz star in director Steven Spielberg’s epic drama about Holocaust survivors, their unlikely savior and the indomitable human spirit.  The film won seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director. 


Other HBO playdates for Schindler’s List include April 26 (2:50 a.m.) and 30 (2:30 a.m.).  HBO2 playdates include May 4 (9:00 a.m., 11:30 p.m.), 10 (10:30 a.m.) and 23 (8:00 p.m.).


Immediately following the HBO debut of Schindler’s List at 12:15 a.m., the ten-minute filmIn Perpetuity:The Story of the USC Shoah Foundation Institute  explores the organization’s history, mission and programmatic work.  Founded by Steven Spielberg, the USC Shoah Foundation Institute holds an archive of nearly 52,000 video testimonies of Holocaust survivors and other witnesses, with the mission to overcome prejudice, intolerance, bigotry – and the suffering they cause – through the educational use of the testimonies.
