If you can’t take the heat, get out of the… *I’m better than that*... Chef Gordon Ramsay returns to FOX this week for the ALL NEW season of Hell’s Kitchen
FOX prepares to turn up the heat on Tuesday nights as Hell’s Kitchen returns with more challenges, more mouthwatering meals and more bleep filled verbal lashings like only host Chef Gordon Ramsay knows how to dish out.
The sixth season of Hell’s Kitchen pits 16 challengers against one another to see who has what it takes to win not only the position of head chef at Araxi Restaurant in Whistler, British Columbia but will also head for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games taking place in Vancouver.
Chef Ramsay and crew hit the ground running with a two hour season premiere airing this Tuesday July 21st (7pm CST) where he will split the men and women up into different teams and set them to the task of preparing their own signature dishes. The winners will take one step closer to Araxi Restaurant. The losers will face the threat of hanging up the apron and leaving the competition early.
Recent previews of the upcoming season of Hell’s Kitchen shows a chef burning BBQ, a salmon getting accidentally frozen and a chef who overlooks the simple detail of turning on the gas at her cooking station. “I can’t quite believe that they make the basic errors.” Says Ramsay. Despite this, Chef Ramsay seems fairly pleased with his current talent pool, “Chefs have gotten better… with the contestants being a lot higher standard in terms of culinary experience, it’s been a lot more testing for me, but fantastic, because it’s raised the bar.”
What else sets season six apart from previous installments? “We’ve had a great support mechanism from various chefs.” Says Ramsay. “I’ve really put them into the real premier league of high-end restaurants early on just to see whether it’s a sink or swim. There’s always a tantrum, the roller coaster, the reward for being phenomenal. We’re taking advantage of the Napa Valley, we’re taking advantage of the restaurants in and around California, and really trying to expose them and their potential in terms of when you get this right in this industry, a) it’s the best job in the world; and b) it never seems like a job, it becomes a true passion.”
Again, you can catch the two hour season six premiere of Hell’s Kitchen on Tuesday July 21st at 7pm CST on FOX. Check out the official website of the show HERE for highlights, cast info, etc.
