Dave Andron will be writing the script which will follow the new KITT. Not much is known about the new plot, except that it will follow a man fighting for justice with his awesome, sentient car that drives to the beat of an awesome theme song. The evil KARR (or Knight Automated Roving Robot, if you prefer) is also expected to be a frequent contributor.
The telepic will air Spring 2008; if it rates well then a new show could hit the airwaves Fall 2008.
The most troubling thing about all of this news is this from Variety: “Success of “Transformers” had a role in inspiring NBC Entertainment chief Ben Silverman’s decision to revive “Knight.” The thinking is that smallscreen f/x have advanced to the point where it’d be feasible to have a weekly series in which cars shift shapes.”
Unless we’re talking a Turbo Teen-like premise, they’d better be talking about Super-Pursuit mode and KITT better be voiced by William Daniels or my childhood is in danger of being destroyed.
And the soundtrack damn well better be in the hands of David Hasselhoff.

Your CHILDHOOD is in danger of being DESTROYED? How many of these idiots are on the web? A remake/continuation WILL NOT destroy your childhood. Unless your memories can be altered by a TV, in which case you need more help than I can provide.

I agree. Let’s all take platitudes literally.
