The First of the Fab Four has Died
Golden Girl Estelle Getty has died at the age of 84.
The Golden Girl died early Tuesday at her home in Los Angeles. Getty suffered from advanced dementia and died of natural causes. Best known for her role as Sophia in “The Golden Girls”, Getty starred in such films as Mannequin, Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot and Stuart Little.
Estelle Getty began acting in the film Team-Mates in 1978. She had small roles in Tootsie and Mask before landing her career defining role on the hit NBC series. Estelle won an Emmy in 1988 for her work on the series.
